Looking good and feeling great are the two main reasons why people like a tan.
At Room 8 we offer two services to give you a tanned look, either on the tanning tube sunbed (this is a stand up sun cubicle, or by having a spray tan. Many people use tanning tubes and sunbeds for a pre-holiday tan. Please refer to the Sunbed Association web site for further information.
Although, the use of this equipment does not provide total protection, people who have a base tan are less likely to over expose themselves during the early days of a holiday. Using UV taning equipment helps minimise the risk of burning and maximise tanning. Caution should be taken when using this type of equipment, especially if you are fair skinned. If you have any doubts always consult your GP first.
UV rays are also a main source of vitamin D which is vital to our existence.
It is now illegal to use sun tanning equipment under the age of 18.
Spray tanning provides an immediate colour to the skin without the possible risks of UV exposure. It is very popular for giving colour for that special occasion, night out, or for those who prefer colour but do not want lay out in the sun or use tanning equipment. It is the alternative to using sunbeds, while still obtaining that 'Summer glow.'
We use the Fantasy spray tanning system, who claim to be the creators of spray tanning. Spray tanning eliminates the streaking or the 'orange glow' associated with non-spray tanning solutions. There are other benefits too. The tan is immediate and for fair skinned people there is no chance of the redness and pealing that can happen with uv tanning.
It is helpful to exfolliate beforehand, to help the body shed its dead skin, ensuring the tan lasts longer and disappears evenly.
